OUR STORY

Ream Jewelers stands as a cherished Lancaster, Pennsylvania landmark. Our journey began in 1935 when Robert S. Ream opened our doors at a West King Street location. In 1960, our family assumed ownership and later relocated to our current Queen Street address in 1972. In 1985, Alan and Rochelle Friedland took the reins of this family business. While other local jewelers shifted away from the downtown area, Ream Jewelers remained steadfast in our commitment to Lancaster’s heritage. We proudly weave ourselves into the rich tapestry of Lancaster City’s history, community, and future.

Our store is nestled in the heart of Historic Lancaster City, just a few short steps the renowned Central Market, the Marriott, the Ware Center, award-winning restaurants, the famed Fulton Opera House, posh boutiques, Amtrak train station, city bus lines, and dynamic art galleries. We offer ample parking options nearby, including the Prince Street Garage and the Hager Parking lot, for which we provide vouchers. Additionally, street parking is readily available.

Ream Jewelers holds membership in the prestigious American Gem Society. To attain this distinction, a jeweler must adhere to the strictest ethical and professional standards, passing rigorous gemology courses and undergoing annual retesting. Less than 5% of all jewelers in the United States and Canada qualify for this esteemed membership. Additionally, we are proud members of the Gemological Institute of America, Jewelers of America, Rotary International, and the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.

Our passion extends beyond jewelry; it’s also rooted in giving back to the community that has supported us for nearly 90 years. We proudly contribute to various organizations, including The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, Aaron's Acres, local churches, high schools, hospice, The Humane Society, the Ann Barshinger Foundation, the Fulton Theater, and the Prima Theater.
